      Dissensio est circa locum Suræ, Meccana ne sit, an Medinæa : quamobrem in ejus expositione addunt Authores مختلف فيها  : Variatum est in ea. Lectori illius غفر الله وكان ممن تواصى بالحق وتواصى بالصبر Ignoscet Deus peccata : & erit ex illis, qui sibi mutuo veritatem, & patientiam commendaverunt.
      I.  Pomeridianum. ] Gelal : الدهر او ما بعد الزوال الى الغروب او صلاة العصر Sęculum : vel tempus id, quod intercedit à declinatione Solis usque ad occasum illius : vel preces pomeridianę , seu vespertinæ.
      II.  Erit in jactura. ] Arabicè خسر  : Zamchascerius : خسران من تجارتهم , jactura mercaturę suę. Jahias : خسر من الجنة , jactura, seu amissione, Paradisi.

        I. Tædet toties easdem ineptias refutare. Jurat Deus homines omnes perituros, propriæque salutis jacturam facturos pręter eos, qui cum fide opera recta conjunxerint : & veritatis, ac patientiæ fuerint amantes. Quis, nisi stolidus, & amens hoc ignorat ? Quid ergo Divino juramento ad hoc persuadendum opus erat ? Vanum igitur est ex hoc capite Dei jusjurandum. Impium verò ex eo, quod fiat per tempus pomeridianum : nihil enim est in hoc tempore, quod à Deo in testem veracitatis suę advocari mereatur.

            «إنَّ الإنسان» الجنس «لفي خُسر» في تجارته.

            «إلا الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات» فليسوا في خسران «وتواصوا» أوصى بعضهم بعضاً «بالحق» الإيمان «وتواصوا بالصبر» على الطاعة وعن المعصية.
